Oh and watch out – the cops in their super-tough armoured patrol vehicles are lurking, and if they catch you being bad they’ll be down on you like several tons of cold pork. In every event you have the option to “play it your way”… Waste all your opponents, kill every pedestrian, or (perish the thought) complete all the laps. As well as using your car as a weapon, every level is sprinkled generously with power-ups that have a vast variety of mad effects, adding a whole extra level of craziness to the proceedings. Now the same Mac & PC classic that was BANNED AROUND THE WORLD is back!Ĭarmageddon features real-world environments that have been turned into killing fields, where the locals stay out on the streets at their peril. It’s the racing game where racing is for wimps. The game features anarchic drive-wherever-you-like gameplay and over-the-top surreal comedy violence. Other than that, great game, car damage is awesome and skewering peds on spikes is a carma dream come true.Ĥ/5, had a lot of fun with it, and I am highly critical of which games I waste my time on.Carmageddon is the original freeform driving sensation, where pedestrians (and cows!) equal points, and your opponents are a bunch of crazies in a twisted mix of automotive killing machines. Wish the camera controls were a bit better (being able to move the camera up with the right stick, for example, to see over the front of the car), wish the "interior" views weren't so half-assed, and wish the AI was just a little bit less annoying (some of them are just too fucking squirrely). ![]() Overall, give the game a chance, unlock some cars, play classic carma mode and hunt for powerups (time is never really a factor). Could have been more variety and more to interact with IMO. Levels are decently sized, some better than others. And the "rapture" powerup has got to go, that thing is loud as fuck. Powerups are hit and miss (still don't know what "tis only a scratch" does), but all the classics make a comeback. ![]() My favorites in terms of feeling fun to play are the Eagle (Max, not Anna), the Degoriyan, Crazor, and another one I forget the name of. ![]() But you know the beauty of it is you don't even have to play the other modes if you don't want, just get enough points to unlock the next tier.Ĭars get better as you go (for the most part). Everything else the AI is just way too fucking annoying. The only game mode I found worth while was "Classic Carma". Also, you want to see some crazy handling, go play Carma 2. The car handling sucks at first, and takes some getting used to, but I just "beat" the game today and I can tell you, the handling becomes easier as you go. Never got into the original much because the physics of 2 spoiled me.įast forward to Max Damage, I bought this brand new for 40 bucks, and I would say I think it probably should have been sold for $30 (but who gives a shit really). I grew up playing Carmageddon 2, I played the absolute shit out of that game. My honest review of Max Damage (for PS4) is that it is a great game which captures the spirit of the original games perfectly. I never write shit like this, but all the crybabys reviewing this have made me want to share my opinion.
